What should I wear to my session?
1. Pick your colors. Select colors that compliment each other, but do not match. You do not want everyone to look the same! Mixing neutrals with pops of color will bring some variety to your photos and make them FUN!
2. Add texture & get creative! You can wear something for photos that you would not wear on a normal day. Mix textiles. Fur, denim, tulle, statement jewelry, hats, and scarves are great ways to spice up your outfit choices!
3. Choose classy over trendy and stay away from tiny patterns.
4. Details matter. Stay away from worn shoes or shoes that do not match the vibe of your outfit. Your shoes will be seen. I recommend wearing a new pair of shoes -- photos are a great excuse to go shopping! Make sure to iron wrinkles & make sure that your nails are looking fresh!
How long until my photos are ready?
Most galleries are delivered within 2-4 weeks of the session.
Wedding galleries are delivered within 6 weeks of the wedding date.
Where are your favorite stores to shop for photo outfits?
Females: Anthropologie, Jcrew, Madewell, Free People, Christy Dawn, Nordstrom
Males: Jcrew, Nordstrom, Banana Republic
Kiddos: Zara, Gap, H&M, Jamie Kay
How will I get my photos?
For a normal session, all photos are delivered in an online gallery. The link to the gallery will be emailed to you.
For weddings, photos are delivered in an online gallery as well as a USB flash drive in a heirloom linen box that will be mailed directly to you.
I have my photos–now what?
Please be sure to download and save your entire gallery onto a computer, or harddrive. Once your images have been delivered, I am no longer responsible for them. Please be sure to back up your files so that you can ensure that you will have your images forever. You can download your images on multiple devices (iphone, computer, ipad).
Where should I get my photos printed?
I am so glad that you asked! I love printed photos, and I think that it is so special to have images of you and your loved ones hanging on the walls of your home.
At this time, I do not sell prints. However, choosing a good company to print your photos is very important. Quality is important, and cheaper is not better. Do not print your images at a pharmacy or grocery store. I recommend using companies such as: Snapfish, mpix, chatbooks, and Artifact Uprising.
Did you go to college to become a photographer?
LOL NO. I have always loved to be creative, but I never thought that I would make a career as a photographer. I am self taught. I have had amazing mentors over the past few years that have helped to guide me, and for that I am forever grateful. I continue to learn more everyday through workshops, education that I have invested in, and from other creative individuals that I have the pleasure of working with.
Do you have a second shooter for weddings?
For the most part, yes. My husband Duke is my 2nd shooter 90% of the time. In the rare chance that he is unavailable, one of my other 2nd shooters will assist with the wedding. If your wedding is smaller, I may photograph it solo, or just have an assistant to provide an extra set of hands throughout the day.
What is the point of a second shooter?
A 2nd shooter helps to ensure that moments are not missed....and it makes a wedding day easier for me! Wedding days can be chaotic, and since I am only one person, I cannot be two places at once. Cue a 2nd shooter! Having another person helps add variety to the images in your gallery as we are able to capture different angles of the same event.
What does it mean to be a natural light photographer?
I LOVE natural light, and prefer to shoot in it. Outdoor sessions are my favorite, as it will give you the glowy, light, natural look that most likely drew you to my work in the first place. I use flash when needed, like at a wedding reception, but other than that, I like to rely on nature to help me make magic!
What does it mean to be a “hybrid photographer”?
A hybrid photographer shoots two different types of media...film and digital! At most weddings, I shoot 75% digital and 25% film. I love the look of film, and all of my digital images are inspired by the natural colors of developed film. Film used to be the only form of photography... therefore your images truly are timeless. I want your images to age well. I try to steer away from trends, and I aim to keep my images crisp and classic.
Do you travel?
Yes!!!! I will travel anywhere for weddings or other events. I love destination weddings. Additional fees are added to package prices depending on location and time of year.
How can I book a session with you?
How to book:
Please email email@example.com to book or fill out the contact form located below
We will chat about your needs, your ideas, and your budget...if you think that we will work well together, we will proceed forward!
How much are your wedding packages?
You want me to photograph your wedding -- Now what?! Booking a photographer is the MOST important part of wedding planning. Your photographer will capture the details of your special day so that you can relive your wedding through timeless images for the rest of your life.
I would love to chat more about your wedding day, your needs, and what you are looking for in a photographer. We can do this over a video call, or via email.
All wedding packages are custom. Once we discuss your schedule, location, and budget, I will create a custom contract for you.
Once the contract has been signed, returned, and the deposit paid -- we are good to go! Now the fun starts.
A series of questionnaires will be sent out in the months leading up to your wedding. These questionnaires help me learn more about your vision, and help me prepare to better serve YOU!
Leading up to your wedding date, I always recommend an in person meeting or video call, just to run through your expectations for the day. I will work with you, and your other vendors to create a timeline for your day. A timeline ensures structure and limits chaos the day of.
The remaining balance must be paid in full 30 days before your wedding date.
I look forward to working with you!!!
